Dealing with Winter in Reno

I was on Facebook today and saw parents mostly complaining about bus delays for schools here in Reno. Even the parents that thought of themselves as responsible typically added "drive them to school yourself'.

This is snow country. That is what Nevada means. The last few winters have been fairly mild, but we can get a lot more snow and a lot colder temperatures. Seems like a whole lot of parents around here need to get their kids some climate appropriate winter gear and send them outside so they can learn to deal with the climate in the state they live in.

The last of the snow melted off my truck yesterday afternoon and overnight and froze it to the driveway. It was right around zero early this morning in Reno. Some people saw 5 below.

Snow started falling on my end of Reno ... and an old friend that lives in Louisiana is also seeing snow right now. What an amazing weather system.
